Another Week in Review: Featuring Deadpool, the Cheshire Cat and a Dancing Mannequin

DeadpoolSo this weekly posting thing seems to be a thing that’s happening now.  I still haven’t really decided if that’s what I’m going to settle on or not but right now that’s where I’m at.  For the time being I’m doing daily sketches with weekly posts and that seems to be working out okay.  I don’t have any trouble drawing something every day that way and that’s really the part that’s important to me.  It does still feel strange posting a Thursday Mannequin Sketch and a Sunday Hand Sketch at the same time though.  The hand sketch is almost a week old at this point.  That may be the longest I’ve ever waited to post one, though possibly not by much. A Week’s Worth of Sketches

Goku2This whole regular posting schedule thing seems to just be flying out the window lately.  I’m kind of at an inbetween stage right now.  Hopefully by the end of February, beginning of March I’ll be able to get a more stable schedule sorted out.  In the meantime I am still drawing regularly.  I just haven’t gotten around to posting anything for the past week.  That means that I now have a whole week’s worth of sketches to upload.  This was today’s.  It was another request from one of my supervisors at work for her son.  Actually I drew it on Monday (I’ll post the original line drawing below) but I didn’t get around to colouring it in until today.  So this was still my main artistic endeavour for the day. A Sunday Hand Sketch on a Monday and Some Experiments with Brush Pen Techniques

A Monday Sunday HandIt has been an inordinately busy couple of days. Actually I think this past weekend was my busiest in years. There just hasn’t really been any downtime at all. I had to hit the ground running as soon as my Christmas break ended. That being said, I did actually still draw this hand sketch on Sunday for what it’s worth. It was very quick and very rough but I insist on continuing that tradition. So it is still a Sunday hand sketch. I just didn’t get around to posting it until Monday. Continue reading

Another Sunday Hand Sketch to Start the Year

A 2016 Hand SketchAlright, I’ve had a couple of days off and now I’m back in time for the Sunday hand sketch.  The last couple of days were pretty busy for me so I didn’t get as much rest as I might have liked before getting back to the regular working routine tomorrow.  I took a bit more of a lazy day today though and my first priority, actually pretty much my only priority, for the day was to make time for some sketching. Day 361: The Last Sunday Hand Sketch of the Year

Hand Number 52I suppose this must be my 52nd Sunday hand sketch of the year.  As far as I can remember at least I don’t think I’ve missed a single Sunday hand sketch.  It’s hard to believe that it’s been so long already though.  So for my last hand sketch of the year my husband decided to act as a hand model again.  I think he really just wanted to encourage me to actually get sketching but it was still much appreciated.  It’s always nice when I don’t have to try to come up with a new hand pose.  After 52 weeks I’m afraid it was starting to get rather repetitive. Day 354: A Little Bit of Hand and Finger Practice

Just a Little Bit of Hand SketchingI still seem to be in the bad habit of waiting until I’m too tired to think straight before getting started on my daily sketch.  I really don’t even have an excuse for it today.  It was another nice relaxing Sunday.  It just seemed to fly by somehow.  I suppose in the end what matters is that I did the sketch though.  It will be my second last hand sketch of the year.  I haven’t missed a Sunday yet so I suppose that makes this my 51st hand sketch of 2015.  That’s so strange to think about. Day 347: Eight Arms and A Hand

One of NineToday may have been the easiest day ever for deciding what to draw.  Actually it was a pretty easy day all around.  Sundays are great.  The downside is that I have no idea how I made it to the end of the day so fast and I really don’t feel like I got anything done.  At least it was a fun waste of time though.  I spent time with my friends.  I spent time with my husband.  I spent time with my brother.  I spent time with my cats.  It may not have been productive but I think there’s a chance that it was in some way therapeutic.  I actually had a really nice relaxing weekend and I think I was in need of that. Continue reading

Day 340: A Gnarly Hand

A Gnarly HandSo apparently today didn’t actually need to be quite as busy as it was. Actually it didn’t really need to be busy at all. I could have spent the day unpacking and getting my new house set up. Unfortunately I mixed up my dates and ended up heading into the city instead. At least I got a nice day in the city with my husband out of it though. That’s a pretty nice silver lining even if it doubled the productivity loss for the day. Continue reading
