Day 186: A Final Watercolour Hand Sketch

A Final Watercolour HandI worked on my other drawing a bit more today but I didn’t make nearly as much progress as I had hoped so I’m afraid I don’t really have anything to show for it yet.  Luckily for me, today is hand day so I didn’t have to think too much about what to draw for my daily sketch.  Actually I was planning to do a hand sketch today whether I managed to get the other one done or not.  After all, this will be my last watercolour hand sketch for a while at least.  I have less than a week’s worth of pages left in my watercolour sketchbook.

As far as a final watercolour hand sketch goes (at least for a while), I’m not sure how happy I am with this one.  I can’t say it’s really going out with a bang.  It’s not exactly the pinnacle of achievements in terms of watercolour hand sketches.  On the other hand, it’s definitely not my worst watercolour hand sketch either.  It definitely could have been a lot worse.

Of course, while I won’t be doing more watercolour hand sketches for a while, I will still be doing weekly hand sketches.  That means I’ll still be making progress at least as far as my line work goes.  So I suppose it doesn’t matter too much that this one is a bit of a mediocre note to leave off on.  That just means that next time I do a watercolour hand sketch it will be even better than this one.

    1. The plan for my new sketchbook is going to be pen only sketches. I’ve always been working with pencil so far so I’m a bit nervous about it. I think it will be a good learning experience for me though.
